Thakurani Mine
Overview
Thakurani Mine is also one of the oldest operating mine by Sesa Goa; we are operating this mine as an ore raising contractor since 1999. Over 2.0 million tonnes of iron ore was produced from Thakurani mine in FY2010. Current production capacity is 2.0 mtpa.
Background Information
Thakurani mine first commenced production in 1953; Progressive increase in the production at the mine reached at 2.0 mtpa. Thakurani Mine is situated at Barbil, in the State of Orissa and approximately 400 kilometres from Kolkata Airport. Thakurani mine is an open-pit operation; comprises of two open pit areas; Thakurani mine and processing plants are being operated by our contractors under our supervision.
