Executive Team
Mr Prasun K. Mukherjee, Managing Director
Prasun K. Mukherjee is the managing director of SGL since April 2006. Mr. Mukherjee holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from Calcutta University and has around 30 years of experience in finance, accounts, costing, taxation, legal and general management. Mr. Mukherjee joined Sesa Goa in April, 1987 and held various positions before taking up the position of Director Finance from July, 2000. He was elevated to the position of Managing Director in April, 2006. Mr. Mukherjee is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and an associate member of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India. Mr. Mukherjee has been rated as one of India's Best Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) in the year 2005 by Business Today magazine and in Business World magazine declared Mr. Mukherjee as India's most 'Value'able CEO.

Arun K. Rai is a wholetime Director of SGL. Mr. Rai holds a degree in Mining Engineering from Banaras Hindu University. Mr. Rai was appointed as Director of SGL on 1 February 1999. He has 33 years experience in the field of Mining. Mr. Rai was appointed as wholetime Director of the Company effective from 1 February 2009.
Amit Pradhan is a wholetime Director of SGL. Mr. Pradhan joined SGL in January 1990 as Manager - Purchase. He has a M.Sc. (Physics) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and was appointed as Director of SGL on 1 July, 2000. He has 29 years experience in materials/project management and is also a director of SIL. Mr. Pradhan has worked for Hindustan Steel Works Construction Ltd before joining SGL. He is also distinguished and listed by the International Who's Who Professionals in 2007.
Sushil Gupta is the Director - Finance of SGL. He has been with the Vedanta group since June 1995 and worked in various capacities in accounts, commercial and finance functions at Sterlite Copper, Hindustan Zinc Limited and Konkola Copper Mines plc. Prior to joining the group he has worked with AF Ferguson and Grasim Industries.
Pramod Unde is the Chief Operating Officer of VS Dempo. In a career spanning about 27 years, Mr. Unde has worked with Alfa Laval India and Thermax India before joining the Vedanta group in 2001 as Sterlite Technologies Chief Operating Officer for its Fiber Optics plant where he worked until 2003. After a brief stint in CEAT as VP - Materials and Supply chain, he rejoined the Vedanta group in August 2005 at Konkola Copper Mines plc and has contributed immensely in functions like commercial, operations and projects.
Mr Baid is currently responsible for the Karnataka operations of Sesa Goa Limited. He joined the Vedanta group in January 2001 as President of MALCO and he moved to BALCO as President and Whole Time Director, where he was responsible for the entire aluminium business of BALCO, subsequently he moved to Konkola Copper Mines, Zambia where he was responsible for the business operations of Konkola Copper Mines. Prior to joining the Vedanta group Mr. Baid has held senior positions in SISCOL, Hindustan Unilever Limited and Engineers India Limited. Mr. Baid holds an Engineering (Hons) degree from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani and an MBA in project management.
