Sesa Goa Limited, the flagship company of Sesa Group is India's largest exporter of iron ore in the private sector. For the past five decades, the Group has been involved in iron ore mining, beneficiation and exports, with a group turonver of around Rs. 1800 crores. Over the last decade, it has diversified into the manufactiure of pig iron and metallurgucal coke. The Group operates a 280,000 TPY metallurgical coke plant and a 250,000 TPY pig iron plant. Sesa Community Development Foundation is an initiative of the Group to contribute to society around its operations. With the development of local youth in the surrounding areas, this Foundation was established with two units under its wing; Sesa Technical School and Sesa Football Academy. Mining of iron ore is essential for steel manufacturing. Extraction of ore from the earth leads to a disturbance in its natural environment. At Sesa, we take utmost care in managing this operation to minimize disturbance, and such that post-mining restoration makes the mining area more environment-friendly than before. In recognition of this effort, Sesa Goa was awarded ISO 14000 certification in 1999.

SAFETY at our workplace and in our homes is of paramount importance and we have worked towards SAFETY CERTIFICATION in advance of publication of the relevant ISO Standard. All units of Sesa Group, including its Karnataka operations, have been certified with OHSAS 18001.
